2020 Jollification Overview

Jollification SpecialistsEveryone Can Be a Jollification Specialist!

Each year since our founding, Christmas in Crestwood volunteers strive to provide opportunities for children, families, and adults to join the fun and enjoy our community while discovering Crestwood businesses and all our community has to offer. From chances to see Crestwood’s favorite Santa to car shows to unique holiday decorations, fun contests, and fireworks, there is something for all ages to enjoy.

This year, with Covid-19 uncertainties in mind and a new word in our vocabulary: Jollification (a lively celebration with others; merrymaking), Christmas in Crestwood volunteers (known as the Jollification Committee or Jollification Specialists) are working harder than Santa’s elves to provide a safe and lively celebration for the 2020 holiday season. We have come up with some great ways to join the fun and enjoy our community yet still appropriately social distance. Santa’s helpers are getting things warmed up on Crestwood’s birthday with contests and you can catch Santa cruising around town on December 5th.

Crestwood was established as a Village on November 12, 1947. In recognition of this birthday, Christmas in Crestwood year-end festivities will start on November 12, 2020, and continue through December 31, 2020. We are proud of our city’s heritage and are already planning a jollification for our 75th birthday in 2022.

Let’s Light Up Crestwood with Color and Cheer: While we are not having organized decorating contests this year, we encourage everyone — businesses and residents — to decorate and light up Crestwood with joy and friendship this holiday season.
